Situated in the centre of Roundstone village and over-looking the most picturesque working harbour in the West of Ireland, O’Dowds has been serving both locals and visitors since 1840. Originally known as “Kelly’s Hotel” it became O’Dowds in 1906 and has retained that name ever since. Sunday Evening Surf ‘n Turf specials: We run a small menu from 6 to 9 pm which includes family friendly options like Steak, Beef Burgers, Fish & Chips, Scampi and a delicious home-made Chicken Curry.

Food is served all day by our cosy open fire and overlooking the working harbour in Cleggan. Breakfast is served from 9.30 am and lunch begins at 12.30pm through to 3.00 pm. Our Winter lunch menu is somewhat reduced from the Summer selection but still includes hearty, home made soups, local seafood and a selection of lighter snacks (which continue to be served until 9.00 pm) such as sandwiches and panini, prawn cocktail and smoked mackerel pate.

Cleggan is ideally suited as a base from which to explore all of Connemara, Galway and Mayo. We have three double rooms and two family rooms (containing one double bed and two single beds) available. Vaughans is a family-run business purchased in 1965 by Jack Vaughan. Originally a Pub/Grocery shop it currently operates as a Pub/Bistro with the dining room replacing the old grocery shop.
