Time To Make The Journey Home – Jane Williams
This collection of paintings represents the idea of the journey home as a journey back to the source of our being where we are all connected. This home is found in the expansive space deep inside ourselves; a dwelling place that holds the reality of our vital connectedness to all elements of the natural world.
We are small part of the whole entity which shares the same breath.
Jane paints on small wood panels to create intimate icons of meditation. The small scale of her work invites the viewer to look closely and become involved in their own perception of the story. The work develops slowly by adding and taking away layers of watercolour paint, soft pastel and wax, delving deep into the textured layers of our shared memories.
Originally from England Jane has a degree in fine art/textiles from Goldsmiths college, London. She has always been a wanderer but has now made her home in Louisburgh, County Mayo where she paints full-time.
Opening Thursday, September 19th at 4.30pm.
