A Tristan Heanue film starring Olwen Fouéré.

A new work by actor/film director Tristan Heanue in collaboration with artist and actor Olwen Fouéré is based on the closing moments of “riverrun”, Fouéré’s acclaimed adaptation of the voice of the river in Finnegans Wake by James Joyce. Heanue and Fouéré will celebrate the river’s final farewell as she dissolves into the great ocean of time, tracing her path onwards into the Atlantic.

Hands Sally Shaw Smith

Clifden Arts Festival honoured to highlight the legacy of the renowned, creative documentary/filmmaker, David Shaw-Smith. David’s partner and collaborator, Sally Shaw-Smith, will discuss their work in documenting and recording so many aspects of Irish cultural life, and design in particular. We will show an early film from the ‘Hands’ series, celebrating the local culture of the Connemara Pony. Dr. Fidelma Mullane will join Sally to discuss the pioneering creative documentary work of David Shaw-Smith.
