The Henry Girls

The Henry Girls are sisters Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin from the far north of County Donegal. Known for their distinctive blend of folk, traditional and Americana, their music is rich in harmony and steeped in both local and transatlantic influences.

Combining harp, fiddle, accordion and vocals, their sound has been described by fRoots magazine as “full-bodied and powerfully dynamic.” Their tight three-part harmonies are central to their identity, offering a striking balance of strength and subtlety. They have released six original studio albums, several EPs, and a live album of music by The Boswell Sisters of New Orleans in 2020.

In addition to their recordings, The Henry Girls have composed and performed for theatre, dance, children’s productions and film. Their work on the Irish-Canadian film A Shine of Rainbows earned them an IFTA nomination for their contribution to the score.

Touring widely, they’ve brought their music to audiences across Ireland and beyond. Whether in an intimate venue or a festival field, The Henry Girls offer performances that are heartfelt, rooted, and beautifully in tune with their heritage.
