Professor Rose Anne Kenny

Rose Anne Kenny is a leading expert in gerontology, serving as the Regius Professor of Physic (Medicine) and Chair of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College Dublin. She is the founding Principal Investigator of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) and Director of the Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing (MISA) at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. Additionally, she heads the Falls and Syncope Unit at the same hospital.
Professor Kenny’s accolades include memberships and fellowships with the Royal Irish Academy, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, London, and Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, and the European Society of Cardiology. She is also an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine Ireland and recently received an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Her extensive publication record includes over 600 works. Her book, “Age Proof – The New Science of Living a Longer and Healthier Life,” was shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Book Prize in 2022. In 2020, she was elected President of the Irish Gerontological Society. In 2022, she became the 24th Regius Professor of Physic at Trinity College Dublin, marking the first time a woman has held this historic position.
