Moya Roddy and Susan Kelly

Moya Roddy’s new poetry collection, The Dark Art of Darning, was described by Rita Ann Higgins as “enthralling, entangled, daring,” and recommended reading with full attention. This debut was shortlisted for the Strong Shine Award, and Roddy herself has been shortlisted for the Hennessy Award and won a New Irish Writing Award.

Her poetry has been featured in The Irish Times, Poetry Ireland Review, The North, Crannog, The Stoney Thursday Book, and Stinging Fly, among others. Her firstnovel, The Long Way Home, was hailed as “simply brilliant” by The Irish Times, and her short story collection, Other People, was nominated for the Frank O’Connor Award. Her second novel, A Wiser Girl (2020), was described by Ruth McKee in The Irish Times as “a blast of Italian sunshine, a sparkling glass of wine for these chilly, uncertain times.”

Susan Kelly, from Westport, Co Mayo, has had her work published in various poetry journals and magazines, including Cyphers, Poetry Ireland Review, Crannóg, Revival, Abridged, The Stony Thursday Book, The London Magazine, The Ogham Stone, and Boyne Berries. She is currently working towards her first collection.
