Three outstanding musicians with deep roots in the Sliabh Luachra tradition come together for a performance shaped by decades of experience and musical collaboration. Accordion player Jackie Daly, described by The New York Times as “probably the best accordionist in Ireland”, is recognised as one of the great figures of Irish traditional music. Raised in Kanturk, Co. Cork, his distinctive style reflects the rich repertoire and rhythms of Sliabh Luachra. Across his celebrated career, he has performed with groups including De Danann, Patrick Street, Arcady and Buttons and Bows, and recorded widely.
Fiddle player Matt Cranitch is internationally respected as a performer, teacher and authority on Sliabh Luachra music. Author of The Irish Fiddle Book and recipient of the 2025 TG4 Gradam Saoil, he has combined performance with scholarship throughout his career.
Completing the trio is guitarist Paul de Grae, whose recordings, teaching and pioneering work on traditional Irish guitar have made him an influential figure in the tradition.
