Fundraising Charity Walk to Omey Féichín

in aid of the Clifden Community Play-School Building Project

Omey, a tidal island accessible on foot, is a place of natural beauty and spiritual significance. The island, home to just a few residents today, is rich in history, with archaeological sites that reflect its once-thriving community. Among its treasures are monastic sites founded by St. Féichín, whose Holy Well remains a place of local veneration. The island also features complex coastal midden sites, providing insights into past settlements and the effects of erosion. The guided walk around Omey will take approximately three hours and is suitable for all ages. Bring walking shoes, outdoor gear, and a small backpack with a drink.

All proceeds go to Clifden Community Playschool.
