Frankie Gavin and Family

Frankie Gavin is one of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional musicians, known for his virtuosic fiddle and flute playing. By the age of seventeen, he had already won All-Ireland titles on both instruments. Over the years, he has performed with a wide range of artists, from Stéphane Grappelli and James Galway to The Rolling Stones and Yehudi Menuhin, as well as many leading traditional musicians.

Frankie first played for a US president at age six during JFK’s 1963 visit to Ireland, and later performed for Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama.

He will be joined by his brother Seán, an All-Ireland accordionist, and sister Noreen, a highly regarded whistle player and music teacher in Connemara. Together, the Gavin family will perform traditional music from Galway and Sligo.
