First Quarter: an Architect’s memoir

In this reflective and enriching memoir, John Tuomey navigates the places and memories of his life over the scope of twenty-five years.

John Tuomey and Sheila O’Donnell established O’Donnell+Tuomey in 1988, a practice renowned for its innovative and culturally significant architectural designs. Tuomey, a key figure in the regeneration of Dublin’s Temple Bar as a cultural quarter, served as the managing director of Group 91 Architects. His influence extends to academia, having been the inaugural Professor of Architectural Design at UCD from 2008 to 2019, and he has taught and lectured extensively across Europe and North America, including at Harvard and Princeton.
