BOOK LAUNCH MIMESIS by Michael Quinn

Introduced by James Harrold

This collection marks Michael Quinn’s debut as a poet, published by Little Gull Press in Clifden. Under the guidance of poet Patrick Chapman, Quinn dives deep into an exploration of profound themes such as loss, life and love.

“In this, his first and highly anticipated collection, the poet displays a sincere and charming enthusiasm for his chosen art form, revealing an acute awareness of not only the fragility of life and the suffering of innocents in a sometimes dark world but also the existence of light and beauty, the centrality of love and the importance of ‘home’, all composed in the shadow of a horrific atrocity perpetrated on his family during the country’s struggle for freedom a century ago.” Gerry Hanberry, author, poet, musician.

Quinn regards himself as an apprentice poet, fully committed to mastering his art. He approaches poetry with the exuberance of a seven-year-old, undeterred by the fact that he is in his seventies.
