Bogs & Biodiversity: Understanding Our Living Landscapes

Exploring the plants, wildlife, and land use of our boglands, past, present and future

Join the Dúlra team from FORUM Connemara for a unique walk-and-talk event as part of Clifden Arts Festival.

Discover how these landscapes have shaped Irish identity and the amazing flora and fauna of these living landscapes.

Led by local experts in ecology and land use, the event includes a guided visit to a bog restoration site, where you’ll learn about techniques being used to revive these critical habitats.

We’ll also introduce paludiculture, a new form of wetter farming that allows for productive land use while protecting biodiversity and storing carbon.

All welcome, bring sturdy boots/ wellies and waterproof gear!
