We are delighted to welcome to this year’s Arts Festival Ami Oma who hails from Tokyo. Ami is currently a resident of Clifden and what a privilege to have her both as a neighbour, a friend and an extraordinarily talented pianist. Since coming to Clifden Ami has enthralled audiences with her virtuosity and infectious personality which she has brought to her performances.
Ami has been playing the piano since she was three years old. Her first piano teacher was her mother, a professional piano teacher. By the time Ami was six years old, she participated in the PTNA piano competitions, which are held throughout Japan. On finishing secondary school, she entered the Tokyo College of Music majoring in piano performance in the Western classical tradition. She graduated with First Class honours in 2023. Since graduating, Ami has given a series of concerts in Tokyo to great acclaim. Ami will perform well known works by Chopin, John Field, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Lizst. Bach, Hiaishi and Beethoven.
