Adventure Athlete Walk and Talk
September 18 | 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm
€10
Becky Gilmour is an adventure athlete and mental health advocate. In 2025 she became the first person to skateboard the world’s longest coastal route, the Wild Atlantic Way, while raising money for Samaritans. She has also paddled almost 1000km through Ireland and ran over 100km around Dublin Spire in twenty four hours.
She will talk about her inspiration behind her adventures and overcoming adversity, after she leads a litter picking walk from Clifden Town square to Clifden Sailing Club. You are welcome to join the walk, or just arrive at the sailing club for the talk. Becky is continuing to fundraise and raise awareness for mental health through this year, taking on board a second charity in her campaign: Okuguma. This is a mental health team based out in Uganda at Kiwoko hospital. This will also be Becky’s next big mission, and she will be sharing her plans for an expedition going even bigger, out in East Africa following the festival.
